This robust variety from Campania in Southern Italy for its heat resistance and suitability for our lakefront location in the Scenic Rim near Brisbane.
We are in our tenth vintage, which remains rich on the palate with lemon and pineapple yet subtle with its’ aroma. Perfectly balanced, fresh and vibrant, it will enhance any dish with fruits, cheeses, poultry and game.
Combine it with a shady spot, close mates and crusty bread. Cin cin.
Montepulciano

We’ve selected this mighty grape from Abruzzo in central Italy because of its deep plum colour, firmly structured tannins and perfect late maturation even in our warmer climate.
Sometimes confused with Sangiovese from Tuscany, this regal variety excels with rich berry flavours, finely balanced acid and sufficient delicacy to accompany and dish.
We match it with crusted lamb racks, seasoned pheasant, rabbit risotto and richly sauced pastas.
Rope in a few good friends and you’re done!

Our most sophisticated wine. Based on the Gold Medal winning Vermentino, the exceptional pink hue and a ripe cherry top note have been added with the bleedings from the skins of our own Montepulciano.

Storm Cru Sparkling Red NV

The massive hail storm which hit our island on December 31st, 2017 created enormous havoc. Thirteen mature trees were up rooted, our roofs were damaged beyond repair and about 80% of our nearly-ripe crop was lost. Since all the leaves were stripped from the vines, further ripening was impossible.
Rather than retreat with tails tucked between legs, we rallied. The fruit was carefully harvested, kissed and cuddled, and crafted into this stupendous sparkling combination of Montepulciano and Tempranillo. We have blended 45% Tempranillo, 45% Montepulciano and 10% Vermentino to create this unique blockbuster.
Match with roasted game birds, duck pappardelle or rabbit ragout.

This mighty red grape from the north of Spain has responded superbly to the terroir at The Overflow Estate 1895.
We can’t be sure if it’s because of the soil, the close proximity to the Lake, the water or our special love and attention.
Whatever it is, you will be delighted by the touch of spritz, the green peppercorns and the fine balance.
We match it with Asian stirfries, curries and Pepperoni pizza. Give it a go.
