The massive hail storm which hit our island on December 31st, 2017 created enormous havoc. Thirteen mature trees were up rooted, our roofs were damaged beyond repair and about 80% of our nearly-ripe crop was lost. Since all the leaves were stripped from the vines, further ripening was impossible. Rather than retreat with tails tucked between legs, we rallied.
The fruit was carefully harvested, kissed and cuddled, and crafted into this stupendous sparkling combination of Vermentino and Fiano, famous for its rich tropical fruits and the clean, fresh finish.
